Creatools creaContours


Description

creaContours is an open-source vector tool that allows the creation of flexible contours over all kinds of gray level images. The end user is able to create different contour shapes like B-splines, circles, rectangles and bull-eyes. These contours are then used to extract information from the image. For instance, it’s possible to calculate local statistics parameters such as the minimum gray level value, the maximum and average gray level values and the standard deviation. In addition, by way of the contours the user can obtain pixel-wise data of a region of interest, such as each pixel’s coordinates and gray-level value. The application also provides tools for contour propagation and basic automatic segmentation.

Documentation

creaContours makes part of the CreaTools suite and as such it's included in its general architecture. As and stand-alone application, it is intended for use by four different types of user, listed below. Each user-type has its own pertinent documentation, each one of which can be accessed from here.

End User creaContours

End Users use creaContours to perform image analysis and have no interest whatsover in the further development of the application.

BBTK Script Developer

BBTK Script Developers will design and write bbs scripts that employ the bbtk black boxes contained in bbcreaContours, the creaContours package.

Package Developer

Package Developers will create new black boxes to add to the bbtk library. These black boxes might use creaContour's underlying libraries.

Library Developer

Library Developers design and implement classes that add functionality to the application. In other words, they're the ones responsible for the development of creaContours.
