Objectives

We investigate new anatomical and functional markers for improved diagnosis and prognosis. We also produce reference data for method assessment and data-collection augmentation. The originality of our approach resides in both the coupling between anatomical/functional models and medical image simulators, and in novel contributions to each of the two aspects independently. 


Contributions

  • Deployment of a generic inverse finite-element approach to assess patient-specific active and passive mechanical properties of the myocardial tissues and passive mechanical properties of the aorta from clinical acquisition datasets;
  • Simulation of water diffusion in tissues (heart and brain) at different scales and the resulting DT-MRI to further study the influence of the DT-MRI parameters on the quantification obtained;
  • Realism reinforcement of the hemodynamic properties of an in-house simulator for brain images with stroke lesion by integrating a physical model of vascular tree;
  • Generation of realistic synthetic 2D echocardiography dataset with a reference intraventricular flow for data augmentation through the coupling of a numerical flow modelling and a physical simulator to get standard B-mode images and color Doppler.
