Hervé Liebgott is full professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University Institute of Technology Lyon 1 (IUT Lyon 1, GEII). He is a junior member of the French ("Institut Universitaire de France") (starting october 2014). His research focuses on image and signal processing applied to medical ultrasound imaging. He is particularly interested in image formation techniques and motion estimation. He has published more than 50 journal articles and 100 conference proceedings.

He received the Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and the Masters degree in Acoustics from the Lyon National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA Lyon) in 2002, and the PhD degree in 2006 for his research on Transverse Oscillations techniques adapted to elastography. His PhD has been the opportunity to visit the Technical University of Denmark for a 6 months period. In 2011 he received the French Habilitation to Lead Research (HDR) from University Lyon 1. He is the head (starting september 2017) of the Ultrasound imaging team at CREATIS.

In 2013-2014 Hervé Liebgott has been for one year full researcher at CNRS in the frame of the french "Delegation auprès du CNRS". He has been for 6 months invited researcher at the Université de Montréal in the Rubic Group lead by Dr. Damien Garcia. For this mobility Hervé Liebgott received the support of the Région Rhône-Alpes under the CMIRA Explora'Pro Grant.

Between 2014 and 2016 Hervé Liebgott has served as an elected associate member of the IEEE Bio Imaging and Signal Processing (BISP) technical committee. In 2014 he became an elected member of the IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium Technical committee. He is an associate editor of the IEEE UFFC Transactions since 2015.

Hervé has been the to be the principal investigator of several projects which received grants. The total collected amount is approximately 260 k€. These projects are listed below.
